Foothills Park Engagement Photography - Lynn and Daniel

Foothills Park Engagement Photography - Lynn and Daniel

Last month, Lynn and Daniel invited me to their home in the Palo Alto Foothills for their engagement session. Before I even got to their front door, I was greeted by their energetic pup, Koda. And as I stepped inside their home, I met Lynn and Daniel's other fur baby, their cat Baloo. After some quick dinner prep,

Lynn and Daniel brought me to the gazebo in their backyard. En route to the top of the hill, I may have inadvertently fallen and bruised my thigh... But, rest assured, the camera was okay, and that’s what really matters!

The average person goes to Disneyland maybe a few times in their lifetime. But if your family is like mine, then you plan your entire year around the multiple Disneyland trips you’ll be making. Trang and Jacob are those kinds of people too.

When I first started emailing Amber and Josh ahead of their engagement shoot, Amber shared a specific vision she had in mind. She said she wanted their photos to emulate "a cool new band, ready to drop a sick album." Let me tell you: I think we nailed it.

Mega and Mitch have an uncanny way of reading my mind. It happened countless times at their engagement session in San Francisco. I would bring my camera up to my eye and think to myself: "It would be perfect if Mitch kissed her forehead right now." And BOOM — he did so without me even saying a word. Or I would frame up my composition and think to myself: "It would be cute if Mega playfully glanced back at Mitch." And BOOM — she did just that! Dream clients? You bet!

When trying to schedule engagement sessions (or any outdoor portrait session, for that matter), it’s my typical practice in the winter months to ask my client to choose a backup date in case it rains. For Tiffany and Wilson, we, unfortunately, were rained out on their first date of choice. But after some rearranging of our calendars (including Tiffany switching shifts in the midst of a hectic work week), we landed on an alternate date during the Bay Area storms and crossed our fingers for dry weather.

San Francisco City Hall Wedding Photography - Alfie and Jan

San Francisco City Hall Wedding Photography - Alfie and Jan

Simply put, Alfie and Jan's wedding day was perfect: amazing spaces with beautiful light throughout the entire day, my favorite bridal shoes to photograph (Aflie's Valentino Rockstuds), and an intimate ceremony at the center of it all. Their ceremony took place at the architectural marvel that is San Francisco City Hall, where they exchanged vows at the top of the grand staircase underneath the hall’s extravagant dome, surrounded by their closest family and friends.

There's just so much I wish I could share about Namphuong and Jeff, but one blog post just isn't enough. I spent hours trying to condense their gallery of nine-hundred plus photos into a modest post, but I couldn't keep it under a hundred images. So these two get the award for longest blog post ever. You've been warned.

When you think of neighborhoods in San Francisco, Treasure Island is usually not the first to come to mind. But for Paulina and Fred, it was always their first choice, when coming up with potential engagement session locations within the iconic city. And I can’t argue with that because this fresh perspective on the popular city was a perfect match for their unique style. Here are some of my favorites from my evening with this fun, care-free, and stylish couple.

While Stephanie and Adrian would describe their July wedding as travel-themed, I'd like to argue that epic was actually their theme. With a first look beneath the cypress trees at Land's End, bridal portraits in the Financial District, and their beautiful ceremony which took place on the 40th floor of Loews Regency San Francisco (with the cityscape serving at their backdrop), it was epic for sure. Here are some of my favorites from that day.
