Dogs = happiness. For me, it's a constant comparable to gravity. While not everyone will agree with me, this past Sunday, a very shy little lady did. And, boy, did I leverage that constant to my photographic advantage.
I met up with Katie, Joseph, and their daughter Ava in hopes that we'd explore Emeryville for a family portrait session with an urban twist. Those hopes were a bit dashed when Ava realized that I was kind of a stranger and (reasonably) became a bit camera shy.
However, after learning that Ava loved puppies and hoping that we could find something to make her smile, I proposed a very strange idea to her parents: "Would you be opposed to taking photos at a dog park?" Awesome as this family is, they were game -- and the resulting images were just perfect. :)
Special thanks to my own puppy, Henri, and my wife Sarina for coming out to help a photographer in need. :P
